Wow! Time goes by so fast! We reflect often on our epic parks trip and yearn to "hit the road" once again!
Abbey will embark on a grand adventure this July, so Emily and I are planning to head "outside"(south) in September. We are hoping it will take our minds off her absence when school starts. I will be homeschooling this year, at least through the first semester!
In late July, Abbey will join her group (50 students) from ASSE in Washington, D.C. for 3 days of orientations before taking off to Germany for a year! In March, she was awarded a full scholarship for an academic year in Germany. It's called Congress Bundestag - you can look it up online. She will be living with a host family with whom we have had much communication - they are the wonderful and it seems like the perfect match! We couldn't be happier.
On the list . . . . Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helen's, Ft. Clatsop, Oregon Caves, Redwoods, Lassen Volcano, Crater Lake, Tule Lake NWR, Sister's Wilderness, and High Desert Museum in Bend, OR. Emily is looking forward to checking out banana slugs! I can't wait to catch up with some of our dearest friends. We hope to stay with friends during most of our travels, but will also bring our camping gear! Stay tuned!
